From the beginning of June 1 this year, Anhui Province will provide 3 million yuan of special funds to support and establish a "traditional arts and crafts archives." This is undoubtedly a gratifying event for the traditional craft companies in Anhui Province, especially the South Anhui Liubian Company.

It is understood that there are 1,393 companies engaged in traditional arts and crafts in Anhui Province, employing 100,000 employees, more than 100 kinds of products, and an output value of more than 5 billion, ranking the top ten in the country. In accordance with the provisions of the Measures, it has a history of more than 100 years, superb craftsmanship, and a complete technological process. It is mainly made of natural raw materials. It has a distinct national style and local characteristics. Handicrafts and techniques that are renowned both inside and outside the province can be considered as Traditional arts and crafts. If the history is less than a hundred years, but there are innovative developments in the process of inheritance, it can also be incorporated into the scope of protection and development. At the same time, our province will carry out a certification system for traditional arts and crafts varieties and techniques, arts and crafts treasures, masters of arts and crafts, and review and confirm once every two years. After passing the review, the provincial government’s industrial economic administrative department will compile the list and make an announcement to the public. The fees for review and certification will also be spent through departmental budgets. For the traditional arts and crafts that have been identified, the competent authorities will collect, sort out, establish files and databases, and provide rescue protection for the species and techniques that are on the verge of loss.

Tong Zhongquan, an investigator of the Industrial Policy Department of the Anhui Economic and Information Commission, said that the "Measures" stipulated that a special fund for the protection and development of the traditional arts and crafts of the province would be established, and the competent authorities would draft the relevant rules for the use of funds in the near future. According to reports, this year the province’s finances have arranged a special fund of 3 million yuan to support the protection and development of traditional handicrafts.
