China's wool leather clothing imports rose fastest

In recent years, China’s clothing imports have also maintained an overall upward trend, with imports accumulating a total of 46.6% over the past five years from 2006 to 2010. Among them, wool and leather garments have experienced the fastest growth, which has increased nearly threefold in five years. In 2010, imports of wool leather garments increased by 65%, more than other apparel products.

The import prices of all major commodities have risen in an all-round way. The yarns and fabrics rose by 21.3% and 8.2% respectively. Among the yarns, cotton and chemical fiber products rose the fastest. In the fabrics, silk and wool products rose the fastest. The unit price of imports of knitted and woven garments rose by 22%, while that of wool and leather clothing did not increase by much, only 3.4%.
