China's preferential policies support Xinjiang's development of textile electronics and renewable energy

On the 8th, the State Council of China announced 10 supportive policies such as tax incentives for the development zones in Kashgar, Xinjiang. Analysts pointed out that this move is Beijing's attempt to solve the unbalanced development of the Chinese economy and ease Uighurs' dissatisfaction.

The statement entitled “Some Opinions of the State Council on Supporting the Construction of the Kashi Khorgos Economic Development Zone” is listed as follows: From 2011 to 2015, the mainland’s central government will provide a certain amount of subsidies each year for the construction of economic development zones; The newly established key enterprises will be exempted from enterprise income tax for five years; 10 supportive policies such as applying for quotas and permits will be given.

It stated and clearly stated that Kashgar's development focuses on electronic products, textiles, metallurgy, and renewable energy; and the Khorgos Economic Development Zone focuses on chemical products, agricultural products, culture, and languages.

In addition, the statement stated that through these preferential policies, it will open up important windows to the west and strategic goals such as the leapfrog development of Xinjiang.
