According to the analysis, the sharp increase in the unit price of knitted garments is the key to the increase in the overall amount of knitwear exported in the first half of the year. There are three reasons why the unit price of exported knitted garments has risen: First, the price of international raw materials has risen sharply. From the third quarter of 2010, the price of cotton has skyrocketed. In May 2011, the price of cotton has reached 17,000 yuan per ton, and only half of the increase has been as high as 15%. Under the influence of rising cotton prices, the prices of raw materials for knitted garments such as polyester, viscose, and acrylic have also risen, resulting in a significant increase in the unit price of clothing.
