Great appreciation! Spring Summer 2010 High Heels Reviews

Ben Wang, February 25 — Shoes are a woman’s favorite accessory and can be more valuable than diamonds. This year’s Paris Fashion Week showcased not only haute couture but also a strong focus on retro customization, especially in footwear. While we cheer for the creativity of Jean Paul Gaultier, we can’t help but feel a bit disappointed by Givenchy’s “snacks” — a term used to describe their less inspiring designs.

Christian Dior: Most Development Potential

This season, Christian Dior's advanced customization focused more on garments than shoes, but even their footwear had some creative highlights that could influence next season’s ready-to-wear collections. The shoe designs emphasized the heel, with riding boots featuring a classical upper and a slightly different, more stable heel design. The evening shoes featured spiral heels, which, while not overly clever, added a unique elegance.

Jean Paul Gaultier: The Hardest Design

I’m not a huge fan of Jean Paul Gaultier, but I was genuinely impressed by his latest advanced customization. His ideas have become more stylized and refined this season. The shoes included pointed cowboy boots, plant-like woven sandals, and classic evening shoes. The cowboy boots featured intricate carved patterns on the leather, made through techniques like hollowing and weaving, turning them into true works of art. The woven sandals offered a unique interpretation of patent leather, blending texture and form in an unexpected way.

Valentino: The Most Fantastic Design

Valentino’s pleated chiffon shoes echoed the wrinkle design seen in their garments. Though the styles were limited, the use of color variations at the bottom of the shoes added visual interest. The inclusion of pearls in block-segment shoes was a common trend this season, and it seems likely we’ll see more of it in the future.

Armani Privé: The Most Harmonious Accessories

Armani Privé continued its "New Moon" theme, capturing the soft glow of moonlight in both color and texture. The shoes were simple in shape but exquisite in craftsmanship, with piping as thin as a millimeter. The materials used were rich — silk satin, crocodile skin, matte leather — all reflecting a subtle, moonlit sheen. These pieces stood out as some of the most elegant custom shoes of the season.

Givenchy: The Least Attractive Design

Givenchy, like many others, used low-profile shoes to complement their clothing. However, some of their designs — particularly the large, foam-like "brick" shoes — looked unflattering and lacked originality. The beige pearl details were unappealing, and the inner strap design had been used by other designers in previous seasons, showing a lack of fresh ideas.

Elie Saab: The Best “Green Leaf”

Elie Saab focused heavily on lace and embroidery, creating shoes that were truly in demand. The styles were minimal, with colors close to skin tone or matching the main palette of the garments. The clothing was stunning, so the accessories were intentionally kept simple — even jewelry and handbags took a backseat. The shoes, however, played a supporting role, ensuring they didn’t overshadow the overall look.

CHANEL: Most Creative

If you only look at Chanel’s shoes, you might not expect the softness and romance of their clothing. But the shoes perfectly combined Futurism with Baroque elements. The heels resembled intricately carved furniture, and the addition of pearls made them even more dazzling. The silver patent leather and snakeskin materials created a flowing metallic texture that matched the decorative themes of the collection. **Trendy Footwear Highlights:** - · Domineering full-tip shoes for Queen Fans - · The wild king of sandals is it - · Visual stretch leg length with V-port shoes - · Danbyo shoes trend | summer to this pair of sandals each way - · Summer came to this pair of sandals fire all the way - · Spring and summer shoes: fashion shoe necessary color - · Can't you know what to wear in canvas shoes except for Converse? - · Erika Jayne appeared in New York - · Corthay Fashion Men’s Wear One Week - · The two spokespersons of CONVERSE will perform with CHUCK 70
