I’m thrilled to finally share this raglan sleeve T-shirt design with all of you—it’s something many of you have been asking for! While it started as a simple idea, I couldn’t resist adding plenty of customization options to make it much more than just your average T-shirt. With this pattern, you’re actually getting multiple styles rolled into one. Why settle for just one when you can have several?
But wait, there’s more! The Neighborhood Hoodie + Sweatshirt isn’t just a great sweatshirt—it’s also an awesome T-shirt. To take it up a notch, I’ve included a hoodie version (View A). It features a fully lined hood, princess seams for a tailored look, and a kangaroo pocket. The possibilities don’t end there.
Then there’s the sweatshirt/T-shirt option (View B), which comes with color-blocked sleeves. We’ll be diving deeper into how to play around with these designs soon, so stay tuned! Both versions offer a longer back for extra coverage and a slightly boxy fit, making this style super versatile. Whether you’re cozying up at home on a chilly day or dressing it up for a night out, this sweatshirt has got you covered. Plus, you can switch out the pattern pieces for even more creativity.
When it comes to fabric choices, knits are definitely the way to go. For the hoodie on the pattern envelope, I used French terry, while the pull-on sweatshirt is made from organic jersey. If you’re feeling adventurous, consider trying out sweatshirt fleece, interlock, or even ponte. Mixing textures and contrasts can be exciting too—think faux leather, lace, velvet, or velour. The sky's the limit!
This pattern is so flexible that it’s tough to decide where to start. Of course, you can always sew it as a basic sweatshirt or T-shirt, but the creative options are endless.
