As the world's most important jade production area, Myanmar's emeralds are known overseas. In the world's jade production areas, almost all of the high-quality jade comes from Myanmar. Among the people engaged in jewelry trading between Myanmar and China, there are many merchants in Yunnan, Guangdong and Fujian. For a long time, Burmese jade has earned a reputation for relying on the skills of Chinese jade carvings. “China’s 'Guangdong Workers’ is very famous in Myanmar, and the general trend of Myanmar’s jade wool exports to the Chinese market will not change in the future.â€
Today, with the development of the Myanmar jewellery industry, the country is gradually able to process finished products. When Myanmar’s President Wu Dengsheng visited the “Golden Lotus†jewellery market on April 23 this year, he said that the country will promote the processing of jewellery and jade products, which can add value and solve employment. With the development of the network, online sales will be opened in the future.
Jue Baokan said that at present, there are more than 100,000 people engaged in processing finished products in Myanmar. In order to encourage enterprises to sell finished products, Myanmar has set up an international training school, which is taught by Chinese jade carving masters.
Because jade wool is a non-renewable resource, market prices have risen in recent years. Fan Lizhen believes that mine ban is the main cause. “There is no expectation in everyone’s hands, and the price naturally rises.â€
Although the price is high, there is still a market. Yang Titi, the head of Yangon Winwin Jewelry, acknowledged that the current demand for the jade market has shrunk compared to the past. However, with the constant shortage of resources and the expansion of consumer groups, high-end jade is still rising. The jadeite material alone is much more expensive than it was three or four years ago, and it is still rising.
Yang Titi said with a smile. "The consumer groups are mainly Chinese, and the Chinese aunt is very powerful."
In addition, Jue Baokan denied the rumors in China about “Myanmar’s ban on rough exportsâ€. He said that as of now, the Myanmar government has never issued similar regulations.
